The labor market, commonly known as the job market, is the amount of labor an organization or company needs to function and the labor employees and job seekers can provide.

It’s just a concept demonstrating competition and interplay between different labor forces. This market may be also known as "the labor market", as labor is the service being demanded.

How does the job market work?

Employers search for employees and employees search for jobs in the job market. The job market grows or shrinks based on demand for labor and the number of workers in the economy. The job market is directly related to the unemployment rate, a measure of the percentage of people who aren't employed but actively seeking work.
